David K.'s bio |
Dave made his first BBT appearance
with the Basic Theatre
Company in last season's production of The Dining Room. His debut
was more demanding than your run-of-the-mill roles; he played a total of
nine different characters for A.R. Gurney's collection of scenes. (So we
already consider him a veteran of our stage!)
The below bio is used with Dave's permission:
David Kruh's most recent roles were as FDR in Curley: The Musical (a tribute to Boston's legendary Mayor Curley) and the Priest in Late Night Catechism. This spring he can be seen playing a lawyer in the pilot episode of "The Practice" on ABC-TV. Last summer David played Max in Lend Me a Tenor and then appeared in a Burlesque revival -- baggy pants and all.
His favorite stage roles (other than The Dining Room, of course) were as the title characters in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and Prince Dauntless in Once Upon a Mattress. David, who spent a few years performing stand-up comedy, appeared in both a Jewish and Italian comedy wedding, as well as an Irish comedy wake. He also performs a cabaret act with his wife, Mauzy.
