We here at the BBT take your privacy seriously!
We have developed our privacy policy according to the guidelines
published by TRUSTe, an independent, non-profit privacy
initiative dedicated to building users' trust and confidence on
the Internet.
What Information We Collect, and Why
We maintain a mailing list of customers who have visited our theatre
and added an entry to our Lobby Visitors Log; called us on the
telephone to make reservations; visited our web site and signed
up for email notification; or purchased items in our online Lobby
Shop. We record information only as needed; the name, address,
business or home phone number, email address, and, if we have
a birthday party for one of your children, we remember his or
her birthday. We do not record credit card information. Our marketing
associates, such as Amazon.com, have privacy policies of their
own regarding the collection of credit card information, so please
refer to the Amazon.com Privacy Notice. The link is at
the bottom of the page.
We use our customer mailing list to periodically mail a fall and
spring season flyer to all the addresses on the list. We also
email an electronic copy of the flyer to those that have requested
it. We validate all addresses on the list according to US Postal
Service guidlines using Mailnet Services, Inc.
We don't share information about any specific person or family
on our customer list with anyone. We do report aggregate demographic
attendance statistics to local and state cultural councils for
the purposes of qualifying for programs to boost attendance such
as the PASS program offered by the Massachusetts Cultural Council,
and we also report web viewing statistics to our advertisers.
If you ask us not to send you a flyer or email, we'll take you
off our mailing list immediately. If you become aware of inaccurate
information such as a misspelled name on your mailing label, please
email michael@basictheatre.org and it will be corrected immediately.
We transcribe our lobby visitor sign-up book, and sometimes the
handwriting is hard to read.
All customer information is kept on a private and secure office
computer not connected to a web server of any kind. We instruct
our employees about our security policies and practices and monitor
their compliance. Access to data is strictly limited by password
protection. We review our web security on an annual basis. If
there is a change in our privacy policy and practices, we will
notify our customers via email, and with a link prominently displayed
on our home page.
Our web site basictheatre.org does not use cookies. We do not
automatically log information such as IP addresses, ISPs, and
browser type or link such information to personally identifiable
information.
