The story of "Robin Hood: the Sequel" tells the tragic tale of a dedicated, hard-working sheriff who, out of the kindness of his heart and with the help of his assistant, Target -- in his spare time -- doubled as the towne's tax collector. Now, these funds, I swear, were collected for the sole purpose of ensuring the betterment of Nottingham.
Well, one day, an old, feeble-minded wheelwright, who wasn't pulling his share for the community, decided to avoid paying his taxes by sending his young daughter Ellen to attempt to win over the heart of one of Robin Hood's criminals. As it happened, Ellen met Alan A'Dale in the woods and immediately put on the classic "Oh-I'm-a-helpless-girl-who's-lost-all-alone-with-no-food -- pity-me" guise.
Now, in the defense of Alan A'Dale, he did spend all his time in the forest with a group who referred to themselves as the "Merry Men", so it is not difficult to see how he could fall so swiftly for this hussy as she carelessly tossed around her affections. After thus gaining Alan's trust, Ellen moved on to win the confidence of Robin Hood himself, who agreed to accompany her to Nottingham and help her "free-loading" father.
