Rapunzel
The Story

[Miranda brews a magic potion for the peasants]

One day Miranda, the witch who lived next door, confronted them. You see, it was actually her fault that Martin and Etta Sue had no children. Once, Martin's father had dared to take some vegetables from her garden, which is a big no-no as far as she is concerned. So she placed a curse upon him, preventing him or anyone else in his family from having any more children.

Normally, Miranda would never have removed the curse. But it seems she got tired of hearing Martin and Etta Sue talk about children all the time, so she decided to help them out. Later that night, she gave Etta Sue a magic potion made from rampion, a special vegetable that grows only in her garden. The peasant woman drank the potion down -- and four weeks later, she and Martin were delighted to learn that she was expecting!
