Mr. Farnsworth: Assistant to the Mayor. Responsible, overworked and underpaid. Truly cares about the welfare of the town. Quote: "You promised that when the rivers ran, you would do something with these rats."

Mayor: Mayor of the little town of Hamelin. Pompous, condescending and self-important. Wants to make sure she is remembered. Quote: "I think I'll have it go right there. Right there beside the pretty little steeple in the pretty little park, where all the fine little people for years to come can gaze on a statue of me."

Pied Piper: Traveling musician. Talented, diligent and practical. Stands up for her rights. Quote: "This has never happened to me before. I've gotten rid of pests from Cape Cod to Maine, and was richly rewarded."

Rat: One of several pests plaguing the town of Hamelin. Sharp-eyed, cunning and mean. Loves pizza, cookies, paper...basically, anything it can chew through.

Whitney: Daughter of Mr. Farnsworth. Young, bright and cheerful. Like the other kids in town, would rather be out playing than in class. Quote: "I wish I didn't have school, Dad, just look at that sky...we could fly a kite...or go for a hike..."
