Cook: Sole servant of the Giant. Overworked, underpaid and very, very tired. Afraid of her master. Quote: "It's a giant pain to try and feed a giant appetite!"
Giant: Inhabitant of the gigantic beanstalk in Jack's garden. Huge, overbearing and irritable. Treasures good food, good wine, good music and lots of gold. Quote: "I"m a Giant! I'm a Giant! With a Fee and a Fi and a Foe Foe Fum, look out world 'cause here I come...I'm a Giant!"
Jack: Local village lad. Young, kind-hearted, and given to daydreams. Wants to explore and have great adventures all over the world. Quote: "I wish I could just stay up here forever, but I'm afraid the neighbors are too dangerous!"
Lucky: Cow owned by Jack and his mother. Funny, wise and realistic. Serves her family faithfully. Quote: "I guess it was just my misfortune to be born a cow!"
Minstrel: Wandering troubadour and storyteller. Entertaining, engaging and utterly at ease with all sorts of people. Admires bravery and dreamers. Quote: "So, Jack finally got his wish...he is certainly above the treetops, now. And a castle? I wonder what that's doing here? I bet you know...but I'm afraid this is something he's going to have to discover for himself!"
Mother: Mother of Jack, sole support for their little family. Tireless, hard-working, and strong. Much more practical than her son. Quote: "I've warned you about that dreaming of yours. I knew it would get you into trouble someday--but I never imagined you would do anything like this!"
