The Frog Prince |
Aside from my protective instincts, there was another reason why I cast that spell on the prince. It was a lot of work to go out searching for all the things I needed for my magic; if the prince took that task off my hands, I reasoned, that would be all the more time for my research.
To help him make his decision, I stipulated that the curse could only be removed if one of two things happened. Either the Frog would agree to do my bidding, or he would have to get a Princess to fall in love with him -- as a Frog. (True, I could have just asked him, but that didn't occur to me at the time.) Outraged, the Frog predictably refused to obey me. I felt sure that, given some time, he would change his mind.
