[Gordon Ellis as the Prince] This is the Prince, my royal employer and friend. He's very witty, sophisticated and kind, but so far he hasn't found that special someone. All of the girls he meets treat him first as "his Royal Highness" -- when all he really wants is someone to like him as a person.

Quotes: "If only someone would wish to dance with me not because I'm the ruler, but just because I'm me."

"Twenty-one years old...the ruler of an entire kingdom... and I haven't the foggiest idea what to do about choosing a bride. I mean, after all, it's not like choosing a cantaloupe at Star Market."

"In olden days, people used to believe that the moon was a living thing. I don't think so, though. I think it's just a beautiful round rock, and that people might fly there someday. I'd love to travel there myself."

Notes: Gordon Ellis (above, with the Troubadour) plays the Prince for the current production of Cinderella. The role was originated by Mark Leahy (right).

This was one of Mark's many prince roles. Before his move to NYC, he'd also played the Prince for Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, The Frog Prince, and The Princess and the Pea. He was temporarily promoted to Emperor for The Emperor's New Clothes.
