Obnoxia is one of
Cinderella's two stepsisters. She's loud, demanding, and very impolite. And
every time there's a Royal Ball, she shows up early and eats all the hors
d'oeuvres before anyone else can try them.
Quotes: "After lunch I think I'll take a little nap until supper time. Those stairs do tire me out so."
"Oh Cinderella...you're not an eligible girl..."
(To Repulsa): "Don't be ridiculous. If it fits anyone, it will fit me!"
Notes: Dodie Domino (above, with Cinderella and Repulsa) has played Obnoxia for both the 1995 and 1998 productions of Cinderella. The outrageously funny character is one of her all-time favorite roles!
Back in 1995, Dodie was actually cast as Repulsa. In rehearsals, however, her stepsister became a hilarious and very obnoxious character. As a result, all the names in the script were switched, and she's been Obnoxia ever since.
