Beauty and the Beast |
The Troubadour is one of my dearest friends. We met when she stopped by the Beast's castle, on one of her periodic trips around the world. She was collecting stories of all types -- and stayed around to learn ours!
Quotes: "So, may I tell you my favorite story? It's my favorite because there's a little of everything. It's hilariously funny, a little bit scary, and very, very unusual. Oh, and I nearly forgot! It's about love!"
"The poor Merchant wandered along bewilderedly, at a loss as to what to do next. He certainly did not look forward to the moment when he had to tell his daughters that he had come home empty handed. Well, would you?"
"So, the next time your little brother growls at his food, or your little sister's shyness keeps her in the shadows, don't be too hard on them. There might just be a bit of their great, great, great, great, great-grandfather in there -- trying to get out!"
Notes: Karen Gilmer made her Boston Baked Theatre debut as the story-loving Troubadour.
Previously, Karen had designed costumes for several of the BBT's shows, and won the 1997 Stan Award (Best Costume Design) for The Frog Prince.
