the Forty Thieves The Story |
As Ali Baba watched
from his hiding place, he saw Calvin ordering about his two henchmen,
Chester and Morris. The pair
of thieves ran back and forth, carrying several heavy-looking
bags into the cave. Once all the loot was safely
stashed, Calvin uttered a brief spell, and the cave closed as
if by magic.
The stick-gatherer was amazed by what he had
seen. Just a fraction of that wealth would be enough to last him
for several years. After a brief debate with himself, Ali Baba
decided that he would take just a little gold -- the bare minimum
needed to start up his own stick-selling business. He quietly
and quickly opened the cave, selected a very small bag, and left
as soon as he could.
